Welcome to the
JOYS of NEEDLEWORK!!



This is your opportunity to make new friends with stitchers of all skill levels!

Our purpose is to foster the highest standards of excellence in the practice of the art of embroidery

Through an active program of education and study
As well as to preserve the heritage of the art

We encourage anyone interested in learning more about embroidery and embroidery techniques to join the Coulee Country Chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America, Inc.

Guild meetings held the second Monday of each month, September through June.

At Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 21st and Weston Streets, LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

Attend either the 9:00am or 6:30pm meetings or both if you wish.


Cancellations: Should a meeting need to be canceled or postponed due to bad weather conditions
or unforeseeable events, an email will be sent to all members informing them of the cancellation/postponement.

Should the LaCrosse Public Schools be closed due to weather conditions, the meeting will not take place that day or evening.










Programs For 2019

Members are invited to take as many or as few classes as desired.

Should you decide to opt out of a particular class, come join us to learn the latest in guild happenings and share in the comradery of a regular stitch-in with other members of our guild. This is the perfect opportunity to get advice on a project or to get help with something that has you stumped.

In 2019 we will be focusing on small project finishing techniques using items from our stash.

January 2019

Decorative Wooden Spools


Bring your own DMC or similar floss to complete this project. You will need 1 skein for a large spool, 2 for a large spool. EGA will supply the wooden spools. If you have a cord-making tool, please bring to class.

February 2019

Pin Pillow

The pattern we will be using is for a stitched piece approximately 3in x 5 in. Bring a fully stitched piece of that size along with three 8x10 pieces of coordinating fabric in two prints. EGA will supply pattern, interfacing and batting.

March 2019

Scissors Fob - flat finish-style

Stitch two designs up to 2in x2in to make into a scissors fob. Backstitch around each design with exact same sized outlines. Bring backstitching thread to use for lacing as well as a skein of thread to use as cording. EGA will supply all other necessary materials. If you have a cording tool, please bring it along.

April 2019

Pin Drum


Stitch up your favorite pin drum design. Bring your stitched piece as well as your fabric choice for the top and bottom of the drum. EGA will supply interfacing, stuffing, and cardboard.

May 2019

Program and menu still to be determined. Plans will be announced at meetings and in the newsletter when finalized.



Membership dues are also due on or before this meeting: $50.00

June 2019

Potluck Social

Each group will enjoy a potluck meal and stitch-in.

July 2019

No Meeting

We are on our summer break and will not have meetings.

August 2019

No Meeting

We continue our summer break and will not have meetings.

September 2019

Scissor Keep

Stitch up the pattern of your choice that measures approximately 2in x 4in. Bring it plus 3 pieces of coordinating fabric (4in x 8in each) and two skeins of floss for cording. EGA will supply all other necessary finishing supplies.

October 2019

Biscornu

Stitch up your choice of biscornu pieces, including backstitch outlines. Bring them, two buttons and backstitching floss. EGA will supply stiffing.

November 2019

Strawberry

3-dimensional strawberries are popular theses days and multiple designers have produced patterns for them. Stitch up your favorite pattern and bring it and whatever material you have chosen for your strawberry top. EGA will provide the stuffing.

December 2019

Holiday Social

We will enjoy a potluck meal in a festive atmosphere.
