FLOSS TIPS:
Twisted threads can be eliminated using the following suggestions:
IF twisting occurs when separating the floss, pull single strands directly upward
(not sideward). Each strand should pull free easily.
IF twisting occurs because of the stitch you are using between stitches, hold the
needle with the floss hanging freely downward and let it untwist.
Choose a needle size with the size of the fabric in mind. You do not want to overly
distort the fabric hole. The fabric hole should be sufficiently large to allow the thread to pass through without
undue friction.
KEEPING PROJECT TIDY:
When you finish your day's stitching on your current project, put the project away with care.
Place acid free paper over the top of the project.
Roll the project over a tube with the front side of the project inward.
CARING FOR NEEDLES:
Old needles:
IF rusted, use an emory board to sand off the rust.
IF you have an old needle packet with black paper behind its needles, keep the black paper.
It probably is treated with a rust inhibitor.
